A woman has revealed exactly why you should watch what you wear when shopping at Coles – after an angry customer mistook her for staff.

She explained a woman approached her as she perused the shelves for some lamb mince and ‘started complaining about how much 500grams of diced beef costs’.
The angry shopper then demanded to know how anyone could afford to pay for meat at the supermarket.

Kara said she piped up in that moment to explain she wasn’t a staff member and hoped the awkward conversation would end.
‘She said, ‘Oh sorry, you have got a red top on and then continued to complain to me about the cost of living’,’ Kara said.
The shocked shopper recounted the story from the safety of her car after escaping the awkward situation.
People were shocked by the angry woman’s ‘oblivious’ attitude.
‘Coles employees on the minimum wage hearing about people complaining about the cost of living like they aren’t also living,’ one woman fumed.
Some couldn’t understand her complaint.

‘Meat has been expensive for years, if anything the price has stayed the same.The price of pork has gone down,’ one savvy shopper said.
Kara’s story rang true for many.
‘I went into Woolworths in my Muffin Break shirt and people asked for help,’ one woman complained.
‘I don’t even look the part and people ask me for help at the supermarket,’ said another.
‘Now you know how us Coles workers feel,’ another said.

Kara said she understands why people are complaining, everyone is struggling, but the staff shouldn’t be blamed.
‘Coles worker here and they speak to me like it is my fault and only I can fix it,’ one woman said.
Some people stuck up for the angry shopper.
‘If I see you I will 100percent talk to you about the cost of living,’ one man said.
